Great start of the 2021 season

The Rotax MAX Challenge Colombia 2021 has started the new season and will held 9 Rounds throughout the year till the finals which crowns the winners of the championship who will have the chance to compete against the best drivers of the worldwide Rotax MAX Challenge Championships at the RMC Grand Finals in Bahrain

The RMC Colombia had a great start into the new season 2021 with almost 100 drivers at the track in Cajica from 13th to 14th February 2021. It includes the categories Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Junior MAX, Senior MAX, DD2 Rookies and DD2 Elite and has an enviable baby category with 23 pilots at the ages from 4 to 6. At this first round the winners were: Santiago Perez (Micro MAX), Mariano Lopez (Mini MAX), Carlos Hernandez (Junior MAX), Valeria Vargas (Senior MAX), Jorge Figueroa (DD2 Rookies) and Juan Pablo Rico (DD2 Elite). The RMC Colombia takes place at the XRP Motorpark racetrack which is located about 40 minutes away from Bogota in Cajica. The XRP Motorpark is embed in a beautiful landscape, surrounded by 2600 m high mountains and can change between 8 professional circuits from 900 to 1450 meters length offering fast and slow curves as well as acceleration straights. The track guarantees the highest safety conditions and offers a great infrastructure also apart from racing with facilities designed to provide comfort, safety and visibility in a beautiful landscape. Therefore, the racetrack was also chosen to host the 11th IRMC SA 2021 which will take place from June 30th to July 3rd with more than 150 drivers from all over South America. The second round of the RMC Colombia was very challenging for the 97 registered drivers. The organizers have chosen a short circuit with very different and technical corners, one very long corner at full depth and a stuck sector, which demanded a lot from the drivers, the chassis and the engines. This second round took place from March 6th to 7th, 2021 and saw a very high level in all the categories with very close races and parity on the engines. On this second round, the RMC Colombia also welcomed some drivers from other countries, Sebastian Martinez (Senior MAX) and Sebastian NG (Junior MAX) from Panama, Mariano Lopez (Mini MAX) and Daniela Ore (DD2) from Peru as well as Luigi Cedeño (Micro MAX) from the Dominican Republic. It was a weekend full of thrilling races on the challenging circuit and a tight field of the drivers having just one tenth difference between the places.
